Promised Diane that I will try to update the blog at least once a week.

But I'm really lazy, plus got nothing to blog about.

So here are the things I did for the past two weeks:

(1) Been visiting grandma very often cause she's not feeling well.
(2) Cousin's wedding yesterday.
(3) Basketball
(4) Eat
(5) Do enrollment for the next semester
(6) Enrolled for IELTS test, which falls on 12/12

I'll be paying my sis a visit in KL this coming Friday with mum. Need to shop a bit cause dint bring enough outfits back to Sibu.

很多人，很多事值得感恩。

感恩，因为我有一个美满的家庭。
感恩，因为我在基督家庭成长。
感恩，因为我有一位真神带领着我。
感恩，因为二十年来我从不缺乏朋友。
感恩，因为我有太多太多的事值得感恩。

说说家人以外我最衷心感恩的人。

陈利恩，一个我小学最要好的朋友。瘦干干的，可却人小鬼大。很像健康不是太好，应该是asthma这类的吧。每天一定准时spray药。他不单只是死党，还是在学业上最好的竞争者（良性竞争）。每天下课我们最喜欢玩的就是满校跑，没流一身汗是绝不罢休。小学六年很快就过了。而他的家人也全移民到新西兰。虽然少了联络，朋友，我依然记得你。谢谢你，让我小学六年的时光过的比别人精彩。啊，多美好的回忆。

郑元杰，一个小我一岁的朋友。成绩unbelievable的好。一个信主很深，成熟的朋友。为人非常的谦虚，无所不谈的好朋友。这个朋友我是非常的喜欢。没原因，可能因为他身上有一股我没有的沉稳与内敛吧。又或者是我压根就是喜欢跟成绩好的同学交朋友。EI, 应该没可能，因为我也有很多别类型的朋友。总之呢，他就是一个，怎么说好呢，特别的朋友，我可以很放心的跟他天南地北的聊个痛快。

还有太多太多值得我感恩的朋友。

上了大学，朋友依然是生活的重心。没有朋友，大学生涯应该很难过吧。

Professor Mike Xie, 我大学的教授。一个中国同胞，可却操一口流利的英语（至于中文嘛，没啥机会见识，因为我们大部分都以英语沟通）。非常感谢他，因为他让我知道，读书并不是为了考好成绩而读，是为了真正得到知识。他的提醒，让我对自我的要求不断提升。感谢他，因为我时不时都为了一些芝麻绿豆小事而麻烦到他。感谢他，提供我Investigation Project的题目，更加愿意当我的Supervisor.要感谢的太多太多了，我只能说，我很感恩，因为有你这么棒亦师亦友的教授，时刻的提醒我要不断的向前看，不断的进步。谢谢你。

蔡鍔舆小鳯仙

1911年武昌起義後，蔡鍔出任雲南省都督，政績多多，深受各界愛戴。蔡鍔還在昆明市的雲南講武堂裏集聚了一批軍事人才，堪稱西南地區的實力派領袖。他也因此被竊取辛亥革命勝利果實的袁世凱懷恨在心。1913年9月，袁世凱將蔡鍔調來北京，出任參政院參政，授銜昭威將軍。意在升官加薪之後把蔡鍔控轄在身邊，並為他投靠日本，復辟做皇帝出力效勞，否則即刻殺掉。同時特在蔡鍔身邊布下了眾多密探，日夜監視或跟蹤，嚴防其圖謀反袁。

蔡鍔早已識破了袁世凱的險惡用心，先是以患過肺病，現今又患上了咽喉病，身體不佳為由，特請袁世凱準予休養一段時間再任職。隨後又偽裝墮落，貪圖女色，經常出入戲院或妓院，給袁世凱一個蔡鍔“無出息”，拉不起來，成不了大器的錯覺，袁的戒備之心大為松弛。

1915年夏天，30歲的蔡鍔，在妓院結識了年方16歲、容貌與彈唱俱佳的小鳳仙。

小鳳仙生于杭州邢姓沒落的滿族武官人家，十三四歲時，父母死去，她被姓曾的人家買去當丫環，起名叫小鳳。一年之後，竟被曾家轉賣給上海的清河坊妓院，淪落風塵。不多日後，又來到了北京，在八大胡同的陜西巷青雲班當妓女，取名小鳳仙，以伴唱賣身，過早地領受了人世間的淩辱之苦。但是她正直善良、追求正義，反對邪惡之志不改。在小鳳仙與蔡鍔相處的日子裏，逐漸察知蔡鍔是一位文武全才，懷有遠大抱負，痛恨袁世凱倒行逆施的將軍，情願不惜冒殺頭之險，幫助蔡將軍逃出袁氏魔掌，回雲南舉兵反袁，完成救國大業。願在將軍功成日，終身相許結良緣。

1915年11月11日清晨，小鳳仙將事前已買好的華貴狐皮大氅給蔡鍔穿上，還特地給蔡鍔加戴了一個大口罩。而袁世凱指派的跟蹤密探們，從背影或行走姿態上看，一如往日沒有異樣。陪伴蔡鍔出行的小鳳仙，更是濃粧艷抹，錦衣繡裙，打扮得花枝招展，有如貴婦人般地挽著將軍走出八大胡同，坐上馬車去大柵欄等繁華場所，大搖大擺地進商店逛鬧市，還大把花錢買下貴物或年貨，雙雙在說笑中遊玩得很開心。那些跟蹤盯梢的密探們從背後察看，一如往常蔡將軍帶上小鳳仙，閒逛大街找樂趣了，于是也就放松了監視。小鳳仙便趁時催趕馬車快走，雙雙進入琉璃廠的榮寶齋。在密室裏，蔡鍔快速脫悼全身裝束，交給戰友戴戡穿好，再由小鳳仙挎著由戴戡改扮的蔡鍔走出榮寶齋，乘原有等候的馬車回到了八大胡同妓院裏。終將所有的密探騙過，直到次日方才發覺蔡鍔逃得無影無蹤了。

逃離北京的蔡將軍，經天津到日本，再經香港、河內回到昆明，並于當年年底，發動護國反袁戰爭，節節勝利，終于同國人一道推翻了袁世凱的復辟帝制。1916年6月6日，袁世凱在眾叛親離、舉國痛罵中死去。護國戰爭結束，蔡鍔榮立了再造民主共和之功勳，彪炳史冊。小鳳仙冒死幫助蔡鍔出逃成功，也以俠女之美譽，長留青史。

忠于情義的蔡鍔原本想在護國戰爭勝利後，同小鳳仙歡聚結良緣。然而天不從人願，就在蔡鍔于1916年11月6日出任四川督軍兼四川省長不久，咽喉病情急劇加重，不得不離職到上海住院治療。1917年9月，再轉往日本九州福崗醫科大學醫院，確診為喉癌，醫治無望，于11月8日故去，哪曾想小鳳仙在榮寶齋密室送蔡鍔將軍出逃時的匆匆一別，竟是永訣，終使小鳳仙美好心願落空，痛不欲生。

當蔡鍔的靈柩從日本運抵上海後，上海各界民眾為蔡將軍舉行了隆重的追悼會，小鳳仙托人送上兩副挽聯。其一為:

不幸周郎竟短命，早知李靖是英雄。

其二為:

萬裏南天鵬翼，直上扶搖，那堪憂患余生，萍水姻緣終一夢；

幾年北地胭脂，自愁淪落，贏得英雄知己，桃花顏色亦千秋。

及至北京官方與民眾，在北京中央公園舉行隆重公祭蔡鍔時，小鳳仙乘坐白馬素車，身穿藍布長衫，步入靈堂，向蔡鍔遺像慟哭，並三鞠躬，隨後即急速掩面退出靈堂，生怕有人認出自己。再過些日子，小鳳仙搬出了八大胡同，離開北京到天津，改換名字，替有錢人家做手工活計，過著貧民生活。後來與奉軍王姓軍官結婚，轉到沈陽長住下來。王姓丈夫死去後，小鳳仙即淪落為沈陽一介貧女了。

新中國成立伊始，小鳳仙改名張洗非，願意做新人，幸得昔日貴友幫忙，在沈陽公立機關的幼兒園裏，當上了保育員，過上了新中國掙工資自由生活的日子。小鳳仙約在近60歲時，默默地患病死于沈陽，走完了她從妓女到俠女再落魄成貧女、終為正常人的傳奇旅程。 (劉肅勇)

Well, I googled this up after watching 蔡鍔舆小鳯仙.

I really like the storyline of this drama. It was so nice that I actually developed the interest to know more about those two historic persons.

Right, China's histories are a lot more interesting that I thought. But then again, this may due to the storyline of the drama (like its not the real case).

Anyway, watched it people. I regarded it as one of the best drama I've ever watched.

Had my Timber Design test yesterday. I think it was okay (I think I did a very stupid mistake in the first question.)

Anyway, thats it. At least I dont have a final exam for this subject (I only have 1 paper in final exam! YAY!)

Okay, talked to Rick Chan on Thurs, regarding SAP (remember?). He is really helpful. I think we spent an hour or so talking through our high rise design and how to work on SAP. Basically, we'll have to find the coordinates of our model, either in Autocad 3D or Sketch Up, whichever we find more convenient and 'easier' and then plot the coordinates in SAP.

Thus, our team gathered up yesterday at Luke's place and started figuring out the coordinates of every floors. Damn it took us so long! Oh and before that, went for Laksa King for lunch.

Missed the concert last night (United In Praise) cause worked too late to find the coordinates :( Heard that it was pretty good. Next time la :)

I think I wrote too much stuffs on my homework, yeah? But I have nothing interesting to blog!

Alright, I'll find something interesting to blog next time.

Topostruct gave so much of troubles to me and my friends. Well at least I managed to generate a high rise model and a long span model with it. Right those sleepless nights paid off. Really need to work hard if you want to get something done. Nothing comes for free right?

Hey i got this very interesting question! What are the penalties IF you were caught cheating during exam?

A. You get 0 for that paper but still get marks for assignments and all that.
B. Failed the whole subject.
C. Expelled from uni.

One of my friend just asked me this question today and I dont know how to answer it. Never dare to cheat during exam in uni. 3000 DOLLARS PER SUBJECT MY FRIEND.

A bit of updates.

I received a not-so-good marks for my project plan. I know there are still lotsa rooms for improvements but I am.. urgh quite disappointed maybe? Well I should have done something better.

Currently working on a high rise structure for the other subject. Progress is very slow because the software used to analysis the structure is kinda complicated. Like, how to convert the structure into a block and then importing it to SAP2000?

Right forget about it. Will get help from tutor.

Optimization on another note, is something I think really worth looking into. The basic concept is understandable but whenever I try to look deeper into ESO/BESO techniques, I was like, lost. Hmm.. Maybe I can do more readings or research during summer break.

I hate presentation (next week Monday)! Okay la not really hate but rather not doing it. Hopefully I'll be fine and speak as clearly as possible.

Damn it I still a bit disappointed (quite upset actually) over my relatively low marks for the IP project plan. I WANT GOOD MARKS.

Okay, recently I posted something about my frustration towards certain stuffs, just two days ago.

And there is one anonymous, he said 'you shouldn't have this kind of opinion....As u say, everyone is paying for that and they want to play as well.If you are playing for almost all the time,is that fair for the pther people in the team??must think of this la....'

Okay anonymous, I'm here to clarify, to tell you exactly what I meant in the previous post. The reason I'm doing this is because, alright maybe some other people have the same opinion like yours, blame my low level of english, which made you misunderstood my point of view.

Yes anonymous, everyone is paying to play, no doubt about it. Everyone wanted to play, yes thats true. BUT DID I SAY I WANNA PLAY FOR ALMOST ALL THE TIME? I remembered I said, there's some people in the team playing all the time AND THATS NOT FAIR, yeah? So tell me, which part of my sentences made you think that I WANTED TO PLAY FOR ALMOST ALL THE TIME.

I just wanted the playing time is SHARED EQUALLY among all the players in the court.

Is me my problem or is it your low level of english? I dont get it. If you dont read properly, why you made such a harsh comment like that? What am I missing in my last post?

Okay just one last thing, anonymous. I dont care whoever you are but I want to make this very clearly. We have 10 people in the team. We played for first half, which is 20 minutes and second half which is another 20 minutes again. So mathematically, I know shouldnt be applied here but well, numbers come first, everyone should be playing for 20 minutes cause each time there are 5 players on court. Get it?

Of course la, like I also mentioned in my previous post, if we are losing, sure there'll need to be substition for the better player to be on court. But I see no point for certain players to play longer on court when WE ARE LEADING.

Is this clear enough, Mr Anonymous?

My grandmother passed away last night.

It was very shocking.

She has been a great grandmother despite all the illness for the past ten years, or more. It's heart wrenching to know that she's gone forever. But to think in other way, she's gone Home, where all the illness being healed.

Nothing to grief over.

Happy New Year, people!

2008 has been a great year for me, despite the losing of laptop, hard disk, bag and shoes.

Scored satisfactory results.
Learnt to play basketball and loving it.
Stayed healthy all the while(you know it by looking at my size :p)

Anyway, hopefully 2009 will be an even fruitful year.

最后的两张考卷，没有很好，可能是因为没有太努力去温习。

考六张考卷，难免到最后会失去... concentration.

原本报读了spring course，可是很像课程跟我想象的有很大的出入，所以我现在还在考虑要不要drop了它，等下一学期拿过别的课程。

嗯，再想想看。

考好了试,日子过的还真是闷（有点犯贱，考试时希望快点放假，放假了却又嫌太闷。）

一直想约人出来吃顿饭什么的，可好像大家都好忙哦（其实我也只约一个人罢了，不管啦，就当大家都忙，这样想的话我也比较高兴。:p)

Everyone has different personalities and its a very important thing for me to learn. What I thought does not necessarily reflect what someone else’s thinking.

Like you said, its unfair for you.

Yes it is, I admit.

Hence, I should make things clear.

First, about the 'not invited' thing, what I meant was nobody asked us to go. Isnt that called not invited?

Second, about the 'dislike' thing, I said that because I was very angry at that point (because I felt like not being treated as a friend.)

Imagine, you called someone over and over again, for like more than 10 times.

Actually I'm not really into this kinda stuff but well, its good to look at all the pictures of your old friends and just laugh at some of their stupid shots.

I need to study.

Concrete 1 is a struggle. Tutor not speaking clearly, not writing properly, and the number of students in his class decreased from maybe 40 students to only 4.

Trust me, no one likes to go his class.

And I'm having him as my Geotechnical 1 tutor as well. :( But I changed the class already. :)

Anyway, I just want to complain a bit about that tutor, even though I complaint for few times already.

I think the reason for the excess fat on my body was that I exercise too little. And maybe because I ate too much of junk food, especially chocolates.

I joined a marathon and I said I'll start practicing, remember? But up till this moment, I haven even start on 10m, except the regular sessions on basketball and badminton, which was like once a week or twice a week the most.

Die la how to finish 5km.

I wanted to go jogging but no one's willing to go with me. So any people out there, if you want to jog, just give me a call and we will jog together(that's if I am free and have no class).

I went to EVERY SINGLE lecture and tutorial for this semester(until now, which is week 4). And I have three days of 830 class, continuously from Wed to Fri. Now, the problem is that when I woke up early, and during the lecture, I lose my concentration easily. I dont know the reason for this. I sleep 8 hours a day, or 7 hours sometimes. I think I had enough sleep but sometimes I just feel so tired during the morning class. Can anyone tell me why?

On another note, I found a very interesting quote from 'The Templar Legacy', by Steve Barry.

Update. HAPPY 08/08/08.

A bit of updates on the recent happenings.

First, went for a field trip for surveying. I woke up at five that morning, simply because I dont want to be late and missed the trip since every student only given A chance to do the levelling stuff.

I waited for bus, around 530am, at the bus station outside my house. And suddenly there's an Aussie(I think he is an Aussie), which again, I THINK he is high on drug, appearing from behind me, and he shouted, 'FXXK OFF!' Well, I must be lying if I told you I wasnt afraid. His tone was like I owed him a million dollar or killed his family, something like that. Then I moved away from the bus station and stayed away from him, by standing few steps away from the station.

See I made a move to avoid him, but he seemed not satisfied. HE WANTED ME TO GET OFF THE BUS STATION. He suddenly walked towards me as if he wanna punch me or something(by taking off a bandage or something from his wrist). Of course I wasnt stupid enough to risk myself to fight against him, and I clearly knew that I WILL BE THE ONE GETTING HURTS. And what if he has a needle or something that he used to take drugs? I RAN AWAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, rushed over a red light, towards my home. AND I DOUBTED HE WAS SUPER RACIST, cause I heard him scolding chink or something when I ran away.

Anyway, I asked my housemate to fetch me to the train station. Got to the site safely and spent around three or four hours doing the practice. VERY tiring. AND IT WAS COLD THAT DAY. Glad that I got it over.

Hmm, OH I JOINED A MARATHON. On the 14th of Sept. Knew this event through Mike. Actually planning to ask two or three friends to go with me cause definitely I wont be joining the 21km like Mike(I sure will quit halfway through), but ended up asking around 14 people to go. AHHA. We all joined the 5km run, and I dont know if I can even finish the 5km or not. Sigh.

I need to practice. Because joining a marathon without finishing it is damn embarrassing. :D

And hor, I dont have any equipments(like jogging shoes or jogging pants). Everyone else looks like a real marathon runner while I look like a kampung boy without proper attire, very paiseh ho? OMG, I sound super Malaysian. HAHHA.

Anyway, thats pretty much about the recent happenings. I planned to write a short paragraph at the beginning but ended a long essay writing. LOL.

And oh, we are going to watch the Beijing Olympic 2008 opening ceremony at Kong's house later!

Prawns cooked by my mum. Very niceeee.
